Country Club Plaza

Country Club Plaza is located in Kansas City, Missouri, 4 miles south of downtown. This shopping center is actually a shopping district, that has approximately 55 acres of shops and services. The center boasts over 150 stores, restaurants, specialty shops, and services especially for the upscale customer, but also some shopping for the average income visitor. The center does not have any anchors; it is made up of many independent stores. It first opened for business in 1923, and is currently owned by Highwoods Properties.

The center, not being a typical mall, cannot offer the usual family friendly services, such as restrooms for changing diapers or stroller rental and play areas. The parking is ample (the second in the world for this kind of center) and free, but unfortunately there is no valet parking service, although there are indoor parking lots in the many garages at the disposal of all the visitors. There is no need for concern regarding security, as there have been no recent incidents in the shopping center area, although a large city is always dangerous. The mall hours are variable, as they are set by each shop or restaurant separately, but fit in the interval of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

As far as dinning is concerned, there are many full-service restaurants or eateries to choose from, totaling more than 40. Entertainment is not neglected either, with, a fine art fair, outdoor concerts, 8 live music venues or horse-drawn carriage rides, plus the Cinemark Theaters for those who wish to see a movie. The shopping center itself is an attraction, as it displays an original architecture (designed after Seville, Spain) and many activities all year round, but visitors could also visit one of the many sights nearby, such as The Nelson - Atkins Museum of Art, The Kemper Museum of Art, Science City, The Steamboat Arabia Museum, Kansas City Repertory Theater, or even Union Station. Those interested in a job here should check with each shop in particular, as there are not centralized carrier opportunities listings on the official site.
